Well, I've completed one sock . . . all except the grafting of the toe. All in all, I like it. Its my first wearable sock ;) but its not perfect. Since its for someone else, who is working hard on socks for me, I am going to try again. Check it out on my blog (unless you are Gabrielle Lovegoods) http://www.janecantknitsocks.blogspot.com/

I went and saw your socks -- you did a great job, I would have never guessed that they were your first pair of socks!
As far as 'mistakes' go ... hey I feel that as long as it doesn't effect the function of the sock, it just lends personality to it -- anyone can buy a pair of 'perfect machine' made socks, you are creating a peice of wearable art.
just try to repeat the 'mistake' on the second sock at the same place (likely won't be the same color spot though) ... then it becomes part of the pattern.
It's a GREAT sock! Way to go on finishing your first one. I think you did a super job. And Ginger's right...if it's not affecting the function of the sock, it's giving it personality! ;o) Like Ginger said...see if you can repeat that little mistake on the second one. You'll not only have completed your first pair of socks, but also customized your first sock pattern. ;o)
It's beautiful yarn too! What a great choice. :D
That sock looks great!
