Which yarn are you using? I may be resorting to potions myself.

I use 'Bare' from KnitPicks' Dye your own line in 100% merino Lace Weight ... but they have a lot more choices now than they did just a year ago! I used a Kool-aid solution substituting kosher salt for vinegar as a fixer.
