Coco, my house elf, has determined I have spent way too much time on crochet and knitting lately and not enough with her. The only reason she's not looking for work is that 1. She's just way too cute. 2. She did not gut any of my sock yarn. LOL Grandma

I started knitting the socks for my partner. However, I'm not thrilled with how the yarn is working with the pattern I choose. So, I may be ripping them out and starting over with a new pattern. We'll see.

Quiz question

Would someone please verify that we are supposed to post answers to the quizzes here on the blog, as well as the answers to trivia questions, etc.

Perhaps I missed the postings, even though I've been checking the blog every day or two. I never saw the postings for the first Slytherin quiz, and I never saw any postings for the Gryffindor quiz besides mine. But the Slytherin prefect posted that all three of the Slytherin quizzes were returned.

Which reminds me - I didn't see any posting about the completed Gryffindor quiz, either.

I would really appreciate knowing the correct procedure for these activities. Knitting I can handle. And putting together a package is fun. But it's frustrating to not be sure of the correct procedure here nor does it encourage me to participate.

Is anyone else having issues getting into the HP Lexicon online? It was up yesterday morning, but by afternoon it was switching over to a different page like the guy shut it down.

I'm not sure how many first years we have or new knitters, but even an accomplished knitter can benefit from this site that I found several years ago from a yahoo knitting group. Its called:
Knitting Help.com

It has video tutorials for just about anything you need to know -- from different cast-ons to cast-offs and everything in between. Under 'Advanced Techniques' you will find lots of sock stuff (incl. magic loop) and intarsia.

its just a good thing to keep in your knitting arsenal.

I think these little people are just great. I had never seen them before, tho. How are they created? Is it difficult? (Please keep in mind that if it goes much beyond typing, I'm pretty lost!)

My partner's socks are coming along nicely. Lots of stuff waiting for me to finish the socks so they can go to their new home. Still have a couple of items to get, tho.
